I can't believe you don't have a spare key. As soon as you find your key, you better get a couple of spares cut...and keep one on your house key ring.

Re: What did you do today...
Kinda ironic. Was test riding a bike for a friend (looking for his first bike, ended up on a NOS 2009 VStar 650 brand new OTD for $5308), and found a set of keys in the middle of an intersection. Seeing as I was on a low slung cruiser, I grabbed them as I went by. Pretty sure I looked even more awesome than I already do while riding...ceemes wrote:Got up, showered, made a coffee, read the news and had ciggie, got dressed, donned the riding gear, tunes playing on the MP3 player, helmet on, ready for a brisk ride to work at 4:20AM, got to the bike, no key in the pocket, no key in the ignition, NO KEY!!!!!!, look at the time, remove helmet, walk dejectedly to the Pathfinder (its key of course in on my house key ring), fired it up and drove to work in my leathers.....quitting time, back in Pathfinder, traffic fairly light for a Friday, sun out, perfect day to ride, see all the happy bikers going by me.....wept a little, sobbed a lot.....still haven't found the missing key.

Anyway turns out the ring had keys to both a Chevy and a Harley on it. When I got home, searched CL, and in the lost and found section someone was looking for HD and Chevy keys near where I found them. Returned them and the dude almost cried in happiness. He put them on top of his wife's car as he was talking to her and she pulled off. She went all the way around town, including 2 highways and the interstate twice before getting home. They fell off (miracle of miracles) 2 blocks from her getting home.

Man, Sylvan Lake sure looks different from the days when I used to ride my Nighthawk up there to check out girls on the beach. Nice vid. I'll have to get out there this year to see the changes - to the beach - not the girls.madjak30 wrote:This is what I did today...the riding and video was shot on Thursday...

Re: What did you do today...
just reached the 2000 mile mark on cycling. AWESOME!
also... it really helps me when i ride with somebody. with the heat and riding solo... i usually cut it after 3 laps around the park. but today, i followed some random guy and did 30 miles (around 6 laps).
i don't think i'll be doing any 60 milers again anytime soon unless we get some overcast.

Re: What did you do today...
Tried to install my bar end mirrors on my MT-01...drilled out the threads for the end weights, then went to install the mirrors only to realize that the bar stops about 3/4" inside the grip...FRIGG!! Now I have to move the grips in so that the rubber for the bar end mirrors will grab the bar, not the grip which does nothing since it is rubber too...gonna get new grips since I'm having to remove the old ones anyway...don't want to ride without bar end weight, so no riding until this is complete.
Later.
