It's been awhile......
But! I'm back!
Life has taken many turns, since I've last been here.
My now ex wife and I divorced, I couldn't get past her party lifestyle and with us having a daughter... Nope sorry... I wasn't in the right frame of mind for quite awhile, depressed, covered up at work, etc... To ride, much less do anything else.
I didn't put many miles on my bike at all over the past couple of years, maybe 50 if that. I still have my Rebel, it's at my BIL's shop having the carb cleaned, I've done all the other maintenance to get it back on the road. Thank goodness that I kept it in my climate controlled finished basement!
I met and married a great lady, who is very supportive. Basically everything the ex wasn't. I bought a gorgeous house, back in my home state of Ohio.
I'm in a good spot right now and life is sweet!
I'm signed up to retake the BRC, just to brush up on forgotten skills (safety for myself and others is highly important), bought some new gear. I still need to get some boots and riding pants. Recommendations are most welcome.
Plan is for the rest of this year, is to do a lot of parking lot and side street riding to get my groove back, then since I'm very close to my hometown to do in town riding.
My bike isn't for extended travel. I never planned for it to be, but rather just a commuter / in town bike.
Anyway, it's good to see the site still up and running and I'm ready to cowboy up and get back in the saddle again!
Stay safe out there!

Howdy and welcome back.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Welcome back!
Wow, it does indeed sound like the last few years have been quite a whirlwind of activity for you; but thankfully it now sounds like things are falling into place for you and best yet, you can get back to a relaxing ride on your rebel!
For boots, I just wear steel toe construction boots, not the best but they have served me well for many, many years (12 years on the same pair).
No matter how long it has been since you have been here last you are still TMW family and always welcome back with open arms!

Hi and welcome back!
Wow, sounds like you've had a very interesting life in the past handful of years. Glad to hear things are really settling down for you. What a great idea to re-take the MSF course too! Welcome back to riding!
Hope you stay around TMW a while now.

Really? Slow as in speed or slow as in lack of posts? If it's lack of posts, it's because you're scaring everyone off.VermilionX wrote:i haven't been here in a while as well.
