Does anyone here know of any legit work-from-home type jobs?
I'm pretty sure the company I work for won't be around in 6 months to a year, so I want to start some kind of work-from-home type deal so that I have flexible hours to work between my current job and school.
I don't mind working 40-60 hour weeks on top of school, and I'm not afraid of hard work, so throw the ideas out there!

Ryan, the issue (I think) isn't what can you do, it's what can you do that will actually make money doing it from home and would you love it enough to keep on doing it? Doing a hobby as a job isn't a bad idea if it doesn't ruin that hobby for you.
As Doug suggested, an eBay business isn't a bad idea, but eBay isn't the cheap place to sell anymore like it used to, fees are quite high now and while eBay is huge, it's not the place it used to be for sellers.
A non-computer job isn't a bad idea, are you trade handy at all? Can you help anyone in your neighbourhood out for a buck? Not only builds your bank account but also builds local relationships.
If you have time and don't need money, volunteering is a very rich way to spend those hours. I volunteered for 500 hours at a local hospital and it was well worth the work and time and made me who I am today.
Mike
P.S. I could always use more volunteers at TMW to help out if you are interested and looking for something to do to help many others (beside me that is) out.

Since you are a mechanic, why don't you do some side jobs to start? They key to success would be to not limit yourself to bikes but work on cars as well. In fact, the vast majority of your work would be automotive I bet.

I'm with HYPERR on this, I just came back to suggest this very thing. Find a location you can work from and do your thing. If I had someone in my neighbourhood, I would definitely use them over a regular shop. Just something to think on...

Oh yeah I already do side work but unfortunately with my living situation and the tools available to me, I can't do too many jobs of that type nature.
As for volunteering, I agree it's good, but I definitely have bills. I just bought an 05 Toyota Tundra a month ago and it looks like I'll be selling it within the next month because my job situation has changed so drastically and I don't know I'll have a job every week when I go in.

Wrider have you ever thought about working at an automotive repair shop? I know your love is bikes but I would think there is more opportunity and money in the automotive field than motorcycles.
