Re: NorthernPetes Bike Adventure
6 years to the month, my middle brother just called me to say he hit a moose......with his month old 2012 jeep. Lol. He's ok other then a concussion, some cuts to his hands and an unsatisfactory trip to the er in a Quebec city. (he was just on the other side of the provincial boarder when he hit it.) I'll try to post some pics once I see them.

Re: NorthernPetes Bike Adventure
Hey everyone. It's starting to get cold up here. Like, almost time to put the bike away cold. Had some frost in the am and lots of bad gal weather so the riding kinda petered off over the last little while. Thinking it almost time to winterize the bike, although of I end up moving I would have to move the bike. Oh yeah, I am thinking of moving again. I have an offer in on a duple here in town and am waiting for my house to sell so I can move in. Myself and my brother are going to live in the two units, split the mortgage down the middle along with the bills and save some cash.
Anyway, my brother wasn't able to get another jeep, they were not able to get him what he wanted for the price he paid for the one he had just bought (last of the model year clearance) so he ended up buying a new F150 that's pretty sharp. I'll be borrowing that a bit soon to do some cottage related stuff.
Did some late season camping wih my son. Very beautifull provincial park near Ottawa called Fitzroy provincial park. Nice small one on the Ottawa river. I recommend it.
Bring the snow. I got an itch only a sled can scratch!

Re: NorthernPetes Bike Adventure
Well, the snow started. Lol.
There's a good coating outside, don't expect it to stay yet, but meh.
It's a good thing I went and charged my battery yesterday and filled the bike at the gas station and seafoamed it. It's all set for the winter. Just about dropped the bike at the gas station, turned to go to the other side of the pump, and the cement was wet and greasy and the bike slid out from under me. Just barely managed to man handle it up but I think I undid my chiropractor visit that I had that morning. Scary. Lol.
So now I wait to take out my sled. Come on winter.

My brother hit a bear with his new truck. He's hard on wildlife. And vehicles. Lol. Just dented the bumper a bit. I was in the truck with him when it happened (last month) pretty exciting.
I helped my brother install some new brake pads on his sled. Doing it on my motircycke years back gave me the confidence to try it. I tell you, just not bring scared and trying some little jobs is great sonetimes.

Re: NorthernPetes Bike Adventure
Little bit of sledding here and there. My xcr 600 may be old, but it flys! Had a few nice rides around the area. Not as many as I'd like but my schedule is kinda nuts with my off days being spent down in the states and the back here working. Although I think next day shift run I'll be ripping the sled around as much as possible.
My brothers sled blew the stator right of the hop so he just got it running last week. I'll hopefully have a riding buddy in that regard. He gives me flack about the little amount of bike time I use. But I just don't enjoy long trips on my motorcycle (blasphemy? Lol) maybe one day I'll change bikes and get a different opinion but my 500 just isn't comfy after a while.
Anyways have a great what ever til I post again!

Out and about riding in the snow with my brother. Had a great ride marred only by my brother blowing a spark plug out. Oh well, fixed and continued on. I need some antifreeze for my sled before my next ride.

Hmmm. My brothers sled blew up. Seized.
He's not a happy camper. Gonna be sold for parts I think.
