Just got back from hunting. Had a cow elk license, and saw a total of 16 but the only shot I had was a "Hail Mary" 550 yd trotting quartering away shot that I missed with. That shot stopped them and turned them broadside, but the background by then was the horizon, and I didn't want my bullet flying into the next valley if I missed. Must have seen 200 deer though, and some so close I could have used my sidearm to take them (and I'm not accurate with a handgun, less than 40 yards effective range for me).

Did sneak up on a pine marten. Found out they are very close to ferrets in body and behavior. Friendly little guy, but wouldn't want to "pee" one off. You'd probably come out on top, but not by much!

It varies from state to state. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/regulations/

I think every state requires a license for any kind of hunting, but it varies what species are considered small game. Here I can go for rabbits, squirrels, and certain kinds of birds with a small game license (e.g. crows are unlimited).

Baked two cheesecakes and made a peanut butter pie.

And watched the end of Iron Man 2 and all of Thor. I think Captain America is up next.

No vacation, just a day off from work and I got really bored.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Peanut-But ... etail.aspx I recommend doing the whipped cream first, peanut butter/cream cheese second. The whipped cream is easier to get out of the mixer bowl, and whipping heavy cream by hand SUCKS. I made the pie itself, but still need to melt some chocolate and peanut butter chips to drizzle on it so it's not so plain.
