Trying to identify cropped photo

Hey everyone, I'm trying to identify what exactly this computer wallpaper is a photo of for a competition on my dorm. This is the only photo we're allowed, and yes, it is a photo of the computer screen.



I don't claim to know a whole lot about motorcycles, but from what I've found in scavenging the web I'm *guessing* that it's some type of racing bike, possibly from the 1930s?, 2-cylinder, I want to say American made, but honestly, I'm not sure about that either.

Any thoughts or input on what this may be a photo of is greatly appreciated!
