Re: Solo or Two-up?
I know more than one person that's not into "two up" for the feeling of personal liability incase of an accident. I'm not talking the insurance angle but the feeling of guilt angle. I respect their choices unlike some of their so called friends...

Re: Solo or Two-up?
I have a strange one, my missus will climb on the back of any bike I ride and is quite comfortable riding her own bikes or demo's. Even rode around on a 250 scrambler in Zanazibar. I am quite comfortable with any one except really large people on the back.

Re: Solo or Two-up?
I've never had anyone on the back, I'm just too paranoid to give it a try. I'd rather just go on my own and not worry about a person on the back. However, I'm lucky because Mike's usually beside me anyways!

Re: Solo or Two-up?
Either way's fine. I enjoy riding solo because I can ride a bit more, uh, spiritedly. But riding with a pillion is fine too. I can relax, cruise, and enjoy the company.

Re: Solo or Two-up?
She is 13, so definitely old enough...she can start riding a 50cc scooter on her own next summer @ 14 here in Alberta...so I don't want that to be her first experience on a bike. Wifey's just not terribly comfortable with the motorcycle in general. I don't think she has ever known anyone who rides...I really want to get her to go for a ride first to see that it isn't that scary, but who knows how she would react to it...I'm thinking of buying a 50cc scooter for bombing around town and hopefully she will ride the thing in the summer...jstark47 wrote:How old's your daughter?

Fun how new members revive old threads --
I don't mind a passenger at all, my wife's got her own bike though so we rarely ride 2Up. I put the kids back there as often as I can, two daughters aged 8 and 6 and my 9 yo stepson as well, and I'd happily carry other passengers if they wanted to go. With the exception of family, though, my wife's the only woman allowed on the back of my bike, so it doesn't come up often.

Re: Solo or Two-up?
I much prefer solo, and my wife won't climb on. I am hoping for her to take the safety course. Maybe she'll see how much fun riding is. Maybe she'll get her own bike. Maybe we'll ride together. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe....
