I have officially entered into a new phase of motorcycling.
Last autumn I took my sister for a ride on my motorcycle. She was my test pillion. She has her own bike, and rode for several years, but the bike is just sitting in her garage now. Anyway....I wanted someone who was an experienced rider to be my first passenger. It was actually a great experience. I know my sister loved being back on a bike.
Fast forward to now....On Mondays and Tuesdays I usually drive a co-worker to a bus stop close to the trains. Otherwise it takes her so long to get home. The bus service where we work is not timely enough and she has to wait a long time for the bus.
Anyway...Last week, I asked her how she felt about riding a motorcycle. I said I would probably start riding to work. I asked her, "If I brought an extra helmet and gloves. would you like me to take you on my motorcycle".
She said yes. She had never been on a motorcycle before yesterday. I explained about keeping her feet on the pegs and about leaning with me when I lean.
She did quite well. As did I.
Yesterday went well, so I gave her a ride again to the train today. She said today felt better for her. Yesterday she was excited, but also a bit nervous being the first time.
I don't plan on taking passengers everywhere I go, but it's nice to know I can.
