Here's the link to the picture of my bike. Awesome ride and the lady loves to come along, whatever the weather. Rode every day from May to December and twice in January - in Toronto!

Sorry if you've seen these in the new riders section, but here are my bikes. The blue one is my Boulevard S50, sadly up for sale this spring. The red and black one is my 1400, taken near Miette Hot Springs in Jasper National Park. You can see I like beaded seat covers on long rides :cowboy:

So... Anyone else have trouble (aka no success) uploading photos? Just getting an avatar up seemed more difficult than I could have imagined.

The easiest way to post photos is to use the Upload attachment's Browse button. When you press Browse a file Upload window opens. (I keep my photos in a folder that in John> My Photos> a date (as I date code the photos when I upload them to my computer.)) Double click on the photo you want to upload. (the File Upload window disappears). Now click Add the file (a little progress window opens and shuts) and there you are.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

I see you are a fan of Roger Zelazny. My kids were named before I found him. Nice choices.

Welcome back to the forum.

Thanks Jock! I've only had one other person recognize the author and series that my son's names came from.

Hi Everyone. I just took the FZ6 out for a 3200 mile journey down to Florida from NJ and back - and all over the place in Florida. It is a tough bike to ride long distances in the mixed winds and cooler weather of a couple weeks ago.
So, I have replaced that bike, which I owned for 6 years, with a 2002 VTX1800C with 10,000 or so miles on it.

Here is a picture with my oldest son on it and my twin girls.Image

Making my rounds of owning bikes from all the major manufacturers. Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and now Honda are done. If my arthritis doesn't stop me, I have BMW, Victory, and Harley-Davidson to go.

Nice looking ride, and a bit different posture from the FZ6 I'll wager. Random looks at home on it...

Jock,
I have only ridden it twice and now I'm on a brief vacation. I'm having a host of difficulties getting used to it. That shifter. Oh, I hate that shifter. If I don't bring my leg up high enough I hit the shifter and put it into neutral. Only happened twice. So, I'm getting used to swinging my legs wide to get on those foot rests or whatever they are.
The custom air intake I can feel against my leg.... There is no tach! Still I seem to shift naturally enough. Slow speed maneuvering needs a lot of work.
The first few turns were... Interesting. Takes a lot of effort. I was flicking my FZ6 around on the highway just before trading it in.... No flicking this beast around at least until I learn the inputs to make it do that.
All my muscle memory - is wrong on this bike. I'm going to need a lot of seat time to learn this. Protection from the wind, awesome. I have a new respect for the folks that can ride anything and switch back and forth. No problem speeding though. :)
Ah, and the distance for that back brake pedal to move before biting is impressive. I'm so used to small motions - and being extra light on the rear brake since I locked the rear on the FZ6 twice. I don't think I have to worry about that on the VTX1800.
