Which magazine do you get? like, etc.?

Oh, I forgot, Motorcyclist also prints a visual of the ergos for each bike, with measurements when they do side-by side comparisons. They don't seem to do this on single bike test rides. I find this helpful whenI experiment with my old bike to make it "more of this or less of that." As a fellow UJM owner, that might come in handy, inspite of the shrinking magazine.

Thanks ron - I'll keep my eyes open for that. I look for all the magazines to improve in the near term - motorcycling has exploded and there will inevitable be more advertising dollars to throw around. Whoever has the highest subscription rate gets the most $$$. Which means more competition. That'll be good for all of us no matter what we ride.

I agree...BTW, I am currently trying ergos close to the Speed triple. So far, I really like it. The only thig different is the seat height, and my pegs are higher just a smidge, but the reach and height of the bar above the seat, and the angle from peg to bar is very close. Even feels more hooligan-like!

Depends whats in the News Agent but

Back Street Heroes or 100% Biker - Monthly bike magazines
Some attention towards biking current events but mostly peoples custom work and British/European Bike Rallies.

If those arent available then Two Wheels Only or Ride - Modern Bike Magazines aimed mostly at recreational biking with a wide variety of articles from braking news through to new and used bike guides.

If thats not available then MCN which is a touch expensive for a news paper.

Cool Kal. I love reading stuff from other countries. There's a magazine shop in Seattle that has pretty much everything you could think of so I'll take a look. Maybe i can pick up a couple more expressions like, 'well chuffed.'

Emap the people behind Ride also do 'Classic Bike' which is the same sort of thing as Ride but all the bikes are twenty or more years old!

I read a lot of the British mags.

I like Ride because it is devoted to the second-hand market and gives a good perspective on older used machines not just the latest kit.

Motorcycle Sport and Leisure is great because it writes intelligently and thoughtfully and treats you like an adult which is rare among Brit magazines (or the British Press in general). It's been around since I was a kid (back to the 1950s) in one form or another

Appealing to the other side of my personality, I like MCN - Motor Cycle News (the UK version) - because it is slightly hysterical like the British tabloids and gets off on lurid, over-the-top headlines and wild assertions (and is very funny for that reason). Everything in MCN is just a bit larger than life. Its features and editorials are all a bit indignant and 'gorblimey guv!!!' They are also bite sized and easy to read over a quick lunch.

When the teenager resurfaces in me and I want to read something appealing to the fried brains end of the market, I go for Performance Bikes (PB). It's irresponsible and pumps a lot of testosterone without being completely daft.

Motorcycle Voyager is good for people who like to dream of that round the world tour (Sigh!)

On the oldie side, I agree with Kal: Classic Bike is worth reading. Lots of detail.

The only magazine I subscribe to is Bike 'cos it's nice and fat and will last the whole month.

"classsic bike" is definatly my fav rag all around...but i read "hot bike" too...and any other mag i can get my hands on...
