woodturning a throttle
I was working on creating a wooden throttle for my bike. I am gonna make it with plywood but was wondering that would it be resistant to water. I am turning it with a full size wood lathe & tyen preserving it with an oil based preservative. What do y'all think?

That's a really good question. You will want a something in the hardwood family that is still flexible. I would suggest White Ash or Yew if you can get it. Both are used to make recurve bows so might just fit the bill.
