What kind of Helmet if any?

Boots are such an underrated item of safety equipment. I wear good boots, and because of those boots I managed to keep my foot attached to my leg. It is one thing to say after a crash not wearing all the gear "I will wear ......... from now on" but it is another to wear it, receive the benefits and say "I am so glad I wore ....... and will continue to do so".

I completely agree oldnslo, also as a younger person, I'm looking at pensions, and realising that due to the population getting older - due to good medical technology (Damn those clever doctors), and general idiot proofing laws - I would expect that by the time, I'm approaching retirement, I'd have to work till 70+ to be able to retire. Anything that removes the aspects of safety before people retire, has got to be a good thing for me

When I was in the Air force, I had a parachute fold up 20 feet before landing, due to a surface microburst. Yes, I fell 20 feet (witness account to me) straight down, and backward speed of about 8 mph. I perfomed my PLF (parachute landing fall), was uninjured, and heard my helmet crack as my head banged the pavement. I landed just off the road in the grass, but my momentum carried my head to the pavement. I should have glided well past the road, but the chute folded. Anyway, after that, and one bicycle helmeted crash, it's full face for me...those are my reasons.

Full face helmet saved my chin once in an accident so that is all I wear.

oh, I forgot to say why... I wear a full-face all the time because road condidtions, other drivers, weather, and foreign objects can frequently be unpredictable, also... motorcycles go fast, the ground, my motorcycle and other cars are extremely hard, and last, but not least, a fully functioning head is extremely vital to living a long happy life!

Well, here goes.....

I was wearing a full face helmet when I broke my neck in three places, got a concussion and broke my collar bone.
I was not wearing a helmet in a similar crash and got a concussion.

I wear a full face when it's cold out, or I'm going on a "longer" ride. I don't wear a helmet while commuting 25 miles to work, but rarely see another vehicle. I do wear one when I'm going to ride in a more congested area.

My wife always wears a full face, she rides behind me.......

Full face. Mostly because I can't stand big bugs bouncing off my cheeks and the dang things are $200 so I can't afford one for every weather condidtion.

Full Face, as I had one for Skidooing allready, just had to get a summer visor and I was set.
