Finally dropped her

#1 Unread post by funsocaltiger »

So I finally dropped my bike. And as expected, it was something really stupid. I wasn't even riding her. I had just parked my bike in the garage, and because of how I parked it I couldnt walk by on the left side. So I dismounted to the right... and I guess I must have knocked it forward or something because just as I started walking away she started tipping over. Blam... she landed right into my rack of 800# of dumbbells. I guess that is sort of a good thing. It meant that it landed at maybe 50 degrees over so I didnt have the impact of a full fall. Nothing was damaged but I have some scuffs on the front fairing now. Ugh. Makes me mad. But luckily no real harm was done.

I did need help getting it upright again though because of how it landed. I couldnt get to the other side so we had to pull it up from the back and far side.

:frusty: That sucks dude. The same thing almost happened to me today.
I did'nt make sure that the kick stand was fully extended and when I got off it started rolling forward. Scared me to death ,but I saved it before it fell. I'm glad there wasn't any damage to yours. Keep riding an stay safe.

Don't feel bad, I had to admit to my dropping my BMW RT. Put the disk lock on and forget I did it. When I climbed back on the bike and pushed it of the main stand, Well you can guess what happened, I felt a right prat.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now

I accidentally tipped mine too, but I held onto it while it went over and it landed in the grass gently. It was the first time I tried to move it myself and in neutral. No scratches or damage at all. Just felt kind of stupid.

I almost tipped it in a tight turn out of my drive way going uphill the other day. I caught it first though. Still..let's not do that again. Bah.

I'm hoping these qualify as officially "dumping it" and now its out of my system :D

Don't feel bad at all! I felt really stupid when I dropped mine at the bank. I thought it was in netural but it was not and I released the clutch. I think everyone knows what would happen! Anyway I was half-way off the bike when it happened and I was able to push up on it so it landed gently on the crash bar with no damage done. Except pride ;)
Thearpy is a waste of money! Save you head, get a bike instead :)

I guess the most relief I can get is knowing it also happened to all you guys, too. My heart gave a lurch when I dropped my bike last week. It was not even like I was riding on it -- I parked it and had the stand on some soft spot . After awhile, the stand may have had dug in on the mud and my bike titled and fell. :frusty: No damages, but still....whew!
