License frame for Maryland plate

#1 Unread post by Ham Hock »

Does anyone have a recommendation for a license plate frame for Maryland plates? I have been looking on various sites and notice there are MD specific frames (along with a few other states). The mounting hardware that I currently have is looking pretty bad.

I am looking for something simple and cheap with no lights.

Why are frames so expensive, $30+ for a square piece of metal?

Maryland plates are a PITA. They are larger than any other state that I know of (obviously you know that, but not everyone else does). Good luck finding a frame. I just go without.

You could look for a machine shop that has a "CNC Milling Machine" and get them to "one off" you a frame out of billet aluminum. It will probably be a bit costly but can be done in a very short time... A lot of custom shops have them for custom parts...

Yep I'll just do without a frame. I did find a billet aluminum frame, but I do not want one bad enough to spend $80 on it.
