Well here's the deal, they are over priced, heavy, slow and on top of that the "Motor Company People" don't really even care for them because as I've been told by the "Motor Company People" 'those ain't real Harley's , those are half a Harleys'......Mag7C wrote:Why doesn't anyone like sportsters?
I think they look cool. Haven't ridden one, but then again I haven't ridden lots of bikes.
I did, at one time own a '72 XLCH (kick start only among other things) and IN IT'S DAY it was a bad "O Ring" bike. Not so anymore, long since superceeded by any number of Asian/European bikes.
If you like the looks and want to pay the "Motor Company's" premium, go for it.
Don't say you weren't forewarned.

I liked mine too.....it just didn't like me.
It did awaken me to what the "Motor Company" was all about. I read everything there was on the "Motor Company", all the bikes and history ect.
I still won't ever own another unless I get a really good deal on a pre-1970's big twin or preferably a flat head. I won't hold my breath.
