Buell Blast

Another thing to consider with a Blast is your physical size. I sat on one but did not ride it. At 5'8" and 155 lbs. I am too large to fit this bike. The one I sat on had the "high" seat. There is no way I could ride this bike for any distance farther than a few miles.
I am sure they did the small size for a reason. Not intimidating for a newbie or smaller people. But a "normal" sized male does not fit.

My wife sat on it and asked since when were mini-bikes street legal.

I am 5-10 and used to be 240 pounds, and with a Corbin seat it was VERY comfortable. Now that I am 225 it still is good. I'd be riding it still, if my wife hadn't grabbed it for herself.

The blast is designed to be short person friendly. One of the few alternatives to a cruiser for a shorter person.

All the Harley Riders edge courses use blasts. Definately a pretty simple bike.

The blast is the only buell that is friendly to shorter people.

Actually at least to me the ergos on the lightning and firebolt suck. Sportbike peg position with standard handlebars does not make for a comfortable riding experience, at 5'10" and average build my legs were cramped on a lightning but comfortable on a blast. Also noted that the lightning and firebolt have a pretty high seat height.

Thanks for the replies, I'm 6'3" and 200lbs. with a 34" inseam. The 250 cc cruisers are out due to cramping, and it seems either the ninja 500 or 250, or the blast would be the best. I haven't taken the msf yet just sat on the bikes in the showroom.

6-3 is a tad tall for the Blast I think.

Don't make any decisions until after the class, I suggest........
