@%#&$% DMV
@%#&$% DMV
Went to the DMV yesterday with my gf so she could get her motorcycle license. We have been practicing for weeks and weeks and even if I do say so myself, she is an excellant rider.
So the first thing the DMV tester does when he is about to begin the test is tell her that she is most likely going to fail and probably will drop the bike, but he will do the test for her because he is required!
What a facking a-hole!! At that point we should have had sense enough to toss this guy out and get another tester but we didn't. So he tells her the instructions half muttering to himself. So he starts docking her off for skidding (which she did 100% NOT do), for not listening to instructions and for going around the cones the opposite way he told her. So ends up failing her after only haf the test. Even I heard his instructions and is was very difficult to understand what he was saying and when she asked him to repeat it he started yelling that he is gonna fail her for not understanding the instructions repeatedly!
Well he failed her and I started screaming my head off at him. I grabbed his board and flung it across the parking lot and was about to punch his lights out. Too bad there were police parked close by. Anyways so we went inside and talked to the supervisor and she said the only thing we could do is reschedule for another day.
ARRRRGH. I hate the DMV. I hope those fucktards die a slow painful death.

That is where I would have stopped him, asked him to repeat what he said, and then requested that he find another examiner to do the test.ralphie wrote:Went to the DMV yesterday with my gf so she could get her motorcycle license. Sure hope they don't intend to collect another fee from you for the next test. (Yeesh! What a jerk that dmv guy is - to put it mildly)

Here you can avoid the DMV all together by taking the MSF BRC course. Just take your card and $25 to a local DOL office and walk out with your endorsement. Couldn't be easier. And taking any MSF course is a definite leg up. Knocks insurance down (which WA state doesn't actually require! Talk about rediculousness!)

I hear your DMV Frustrations.
The Virginia DMV motorcycle knowledge test is messed up. First not only is the booklet itself messed up (crashually is not a real word and only casually fits in with the context), but the computerized exam is programmed for the wrong answers (According to the book). I even had a supervisor at the DMV look at it and he said "Well I'll be damned, the machine IS wrong"
I guess most people now adays take the MSF course and completely bypass the DMV... if it weren't for the waiting list being more than a few months long...

Funny this should come up today since I had to go to the DMV this morning twice . The first time I was 2 hours early so went and did another chore came back and still had to wait in line until they opened . I am so glad that they have this new and improved impersonal service . Still took me about 40 minutes just to get a DMV printout . Normally when I have DMV business I have a DMV lady that takes care of all of that for me . Costs me an extra $20.00 on top of what ever the fees are , I am always first in line and I don't have to go ...........
She is worth every penny to me and I hope I expire before she does .............

Sorry to hear about your trying ordeal.
Oklahoma has a written test. For the driving part the instructor tells you where he/she expects you to go. I told her that she lost me after turn 3 she said that's ok because I'll always be signaling in plenty of time to see if you are paying attention to what's behind you also.
Can you beat that she followed me around town giving me instructions with her signal lights.
I could have by-passed the driving part if I had a cert. from a driving school. But of course the last time I attended a driving school was 29 yrs. ago.
Hope you have better luck next time.

You should take it at my DMV.
This was for my basic drivers license:
First off, the lady hands me this pamphlet dealie to read for rules while she's testing me. In big letters it says don't talk to the DMV person during the test.
So as soon as I get in the car she starts asking me about school and stuff, and goes on a big rant about how heavy her kids' backpacks are this year. She talked and talked until we got back, and then realized she forgot to score me, so to make it look good she docked me half a point and said "congratulations, you passed".
Then on the computer test I missed 4 out of 20 questions (80%). 3 were dealing with alcohol punishment laws, which really should have nothing to do with driving skills unless you plan on driving drunk a lot...
Anyway, I went up to the desk and glanced at their computer readout, and it had 100% in my test score column.
It's the DMVs like mine that allow the dumbasses of the world to get their licenses. I was happy though.
