Why the RC51?
Quick question. Honda already has a 4 cylinder CBR 1000RR with more horsepower and torque than their 2 cylinder RC51 and it costs less $$. So what exactly is so great about the 51 that makes people want to buy it? Is it just that it resembles the RC211?

Some people (like me) prefer a twin cylinder motorcycle over an inline four.
You'd just have to ride one to experience it and make your own conclusions
They wouldn't have it on the market if there weren't buyers out there !

The RC51 is like having a Ducati 999 for less than half the price. A lot of riders seem to like em better than the CBR1000, its going to have a different powerband and different handling balance than the 4 cylinder bike.
mostly just a matter of preference. The RC51 sells well so honda still makes it

The CBR would smoke the RC51 in a straight line and on the racetrack with equally talented riders (if they wre both very talented). The thing about twins are is that they are easier to ride fast most of the time with their wider power bands. When most people go to buy a top shelf sport bike they can't see past h.p. numbers and race track test times in magazines by hired racers. That leaves the RCs and the VTRs for the rest of us who love a little "soul" with their sportbikes.
And to put in my $.02: Wyoming roads are awesome! Here are some pics I took while down there including some of Montana (starting half way down this page and on to the next):
