jeese louise !

#1 Unread post by leester »

So, today i went to see my local dealers...there i am with 1349 quid in cash wanting to buy the Honda Lead. 'can you give me one of your cheapest helmets free as part of the deal please'? asks i.... 'NO ! he says ! WHAT ! ? They actually turned me away and were happy to lose 1349 quid in cash than lose 49 quid on a helmet ! I simply cannot beleive that. They actually let me walk out with the cash . I rang 2 more dealers and got the same answer ! Jesus wept how greedy are these people? Unreal.

Managed to get 2 helmets out of my dealer on purchase of a new bike. Around here we can get better deals at the end of a month but it depends on the dealer's sales too. With gas prices high here, bikes are selling like hotcakes and the dealers don't need to give anything away to get them sold.

My dad managed to talk the dealer down $500.00 on the price of a brand new C50 the same month they came out. To top it off, he also got two $250.00 helmets for free, 15% off any accessories bought for the bike, and a three year warranty extension 'slash' service agreement for just $380.00 which covers ALL parts and labor for any and all regularly scheduled service. He's already racked-up enough miles to hit two scheduled intervals and the dealer in Arizona had to pay the dealer in Ohio a lot of moola to cover that contract. So much so, they've been begging him to let them buy the contract back at the pro-rated cost. I guess they never expected the old man to actually ride the damn thing!

1300 for a scooter doesn't leave much profit margin. It's very possible those things are priced near contract. Even the Cheaper Korean scoots hover around that price, which is telling. I don't know if you can find out the contract price on the Lead, but it's possible that these people are just trying to make what little profit that they can on the bike. Giving you a helmet might be throwing away their profit.

So buy it used.

Might be cheaper anyways.
Craigslist.com seems to be good for around my area, may be good for yours as well. Areas are on the right.
