Learing how to ride in traffic in LA can be hazardous. I found that its a good rule to expect everyone to be on a cell phone, barely paying attention(You will be right 50% of the time). Dont expect people to use blinkers, a majority dont. Expect sudden lane changes and expect people not to see you. Basically, drive offensively and defensively. If you can leave all the traffic behind with a twist of the wrist, do it. If your stuck in slower moving traffic, stay out of people's blind spots. Wait until you are completely comfortable in traffic before attempting to lane split.
