I just got my bike that had been stored for 9 years. It has been running off and on over the last month and put a total of 3.2 miles on it. This last weekend I got it running the best it has in 9 years and went out and doubled the milage I've put on it to date :D so now I am over SIX!

As I get more confidence in its ability I go further and further away from home.

All my miles have been pleasure. I thought it was going to take a lot more work to get it running than it has.

Ive done 2600km's since getting my bike in July, but I thankfully don't have to commute to the city centre and back for my job.
I should be doing my first long journey in December, although it's only a 1000km round trip so im sure thats not long to some riders and I can't wait.

sapaul: I noticed you said 1200km since May, are you sure that isn't a typo - in another thread about you leading group rides you said you put 10 000km on...
My slightly manic brain has a habit of making these things jump out at me :P

When my Neuro-Surgeon finally gave me permission to ride again he fairly limited me to being a boulevard cruiser . What he doesn't know is that I am averaging around 600 miles +/- a month , which I will tell him about next month when I see him . I can't help it , I gotta ride all I can .......
I know it isn't much compared to many of you , but it is all pleasureable to me .
Regards, Wizzard

It is a joy , isn't it? I'm thankful for whatever riding I get to do, too. A lot of things can change in a year, or overnight. Last year at this time, I was on the bike every spare minute, it seemed. This year, I just don't have that option. Now I ride some (not nearly enough for my liking), modify some, read internet arguements some, and sleep alot...things change. Young people enjoy it now, and stay with it. Don't wait until you're 47 to return to riding, like I did. You might get re-hooked, and things might change.
Ride safe...God bless!

I have about 19,000 spread pretty evenly over three bikes this year. That's a slight increase over last year. Not bad for working full time, single parent. 8) Oh yeah, the car gets about 20K a year...

I have put on 12,000 miles since April, when I got my SV. In the last year it has been about 18,000 miles altogether with my Nighthawk.

Well spotted, certainly 12 000. I just put my third tyre on, would have been a bummer if I had to do that at 1200.

what does he want you to do, lie down and die. Does he not realise that riding is contributing to your good health, mental and otherwise.

I bought my bike on 10/15/05 and have logged 350 miles since then. I ride it to work everyday which is about 23 miles round trip all on surface streets. So based on those numbers I should log over 6,000 mile a year. :D :D

I've done just a fuzz under 8,000 miles this summer past. Went out for a nice 5 hour ride today, as a matter of fact. Don't get too many days like this in the first week of november in 'the great white north' of Michigan!
