Mine'll do 100 in first
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

EEk! Mine won't do 75 in 6th. At least not when my hand is on the throttle. I've actually heard some of those old Magnas can be pretty fast. But I'll never know. Is it weird that I like to ride a bike but I don't like to go that fast?

No, it just means you like to look around without having big bars blocking your view.

I'm feeling a little slow today - I'm not altogether sure what that means.

I am just relearning to ride again after 40 years. I just picked up a '93 XV1100 Virago. I'll be learning in a large highschool parking lot before I take my MSF course. Is my bike reasonable for a newbie?

In a cage. The bars that seperate the side windows and the windshield (or the window in the back).
In some cars they're huge (like in my Impala) and create large blind spots (IE a Camaro in the back).

No, just glance down at the speedometer every time you hit redline.
