dual front disks on a spoked hub

#1 Unread post by mysta2 »

can anyone name a bike that came with that combination?

I know it's a wierd combination, that's why I'm asking about it here.

how about dual front disks on an 18" 1 piece rim as a second resort.

why are modern sportbike rims so small anyway?

Just checked the first one that came to my mind, the V-Star 1100 Custom has dual discs with wire wheels and front tire is a 110/90-18. I'm sure there are quite a few more.

1970's and early 80's there were these and no doubt more.

Suzuki GT 750
Suzuki RE5
Laverda 750SF
Kawasaki Z1000
Honda Goldwing GL1000
Ducati 860 GTS

Some of these also had the spoked hub dual disk arrangement Suzuki GS750, BMW R100RS and the MV Agusta 750S.
In the case of the GS750 some had a single disk and the BMW and MV there was an option for the cast aluminum or magnesium-alloy wheels.
