Getting Geared Up for the 2006 - the Calgary Motorcycle Show

The 5th annual Calgary Motorcycle Show will run from noon Friday, January 6th to Sunday, January 8th at 5:00 p.m. at the Round-up Centre, Stampede Park.

This year’s Calgary Motorcycle Show will feature the newest 2006 models from 12 major motorcycle and ATV manufacturers, in addition to showcasing the latest from many of the leading after market suppliers.

There is a lot to see at this year’s Show including, the ever popular Indoor Mini-road Racing. This thrilling action packed event is a must see for all show goers. The high flying action of Team Outlaw and the extreme MX Freestyle, sponsored by Canadian Kawasaki, will take your breath away and captivate audiences. Regan Seig, two time Canadian MX Freestyle Champion will be on hand to perform some amazing stunts. The Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group will showcase an incredible display of vintage motorcycles dating back to the early 1930’s. In addition, The Reynolds Alberta Museum will be displaying a variety of bikes dating back to 1915 which depict “The Life and Times of the Motorcycle”, their latest exhibit which runs through until September 2006. The Alberta Trials Riders Association will be doing trials demonstrations which highlight amazing control and dexterity while maneuvering over a variety of obstacles. The Parts Canada Stage will play host to fashion shows featuring ICON, Alpinestars, Thor and Z!R in the latest styles and colors.

On Sunday the icing goes on the cake when one lucky person will walk away with the grand prize. The winner of the elimination style draw will ride away on a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic Cruiser, in black. The grand prize is valued at over $9,000 and provided by Pro-Am Motorcycles.

The 2006 Calgary Motorcycle Show begins at noon on Friday, January 6th and continues through until Sunday, January 8th, at the Round-up Centre, Stampede Park. Admission is $12.50 for adults, $8.00 for juniors (6-15 years), and $30.00 for families (2 adults, 2 juniors). Kids under 6 get in free when accompanied by an adult.

Canadian National Sportsmen’s Show is a non-profit Corporation and the largest producer of boat, fishing, sportsmen’s, ski and outdoor shows in Canada. Through its family of shows, the Corporation raises funds to ensure that generations of young Canadians can benefit from Canada’s outdoors. Since the first show in 1948, more than $27 million has been distributed to organizations in the form of grants.

The Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council is a national, non-profit, trade association, which represents the responsible interests of the major motorcycle and ATV manufacturers, distributors, dealers and accessory suppliers. The MMIC member companies account for viturally every new motorcycle and ATV solid in Canada. In addition, the MMIC supports the Canadian riding community through safety and skills training programs, government relations initiatives, and the promotion of environmentally responsible riding.

Wow, ya wouldn't want to miss that Show!

Problem where I live is that to see a show like that, I'd have to get on a Plane or ride for 2 days or so....just to to get there.... :laughing:
