Been up close and personal with the ground once. It was my learner bike and it didnt mind too much. The only part it minded was that I tried to blame it. So when I started kicking it, the bike reminded me that my foot was made of flesh and bone while the bike was made of steel....
ouch
Some day I am going to come into a situation that might force me to ditch the bike. With luck and attention I certanly hope that I will be in control of when and where insted of having inerta and gravity be in charge. In my opinion it also helps to say a little prayer before riding...but that is in no way an inventation to start a thread about prayer......
