I didn't even look at the pics - but I've seen planty of them already. If I'm on the bike I'm wearing my thick leather jacket, gloves, full-face, boots, and a minimum of jeans for pants. It doesn't matter how hot it is either. The truth is, it's never too hot when I'm on my bike - the breeze and the vents keep me plenty cool. When I stop, the jacket and the helmet come off. It's just not that hard. I'd skip all that stuff if someone could tell me in advance when I'm gonna get run off the road. I've asked, but so far nobody I've asked knows the answern so I'll keep gearing up just in case.

I was recently involved in a crash the tore the left shoulder of my gortex armored jacket to shreds. I like to look at it and think of what my shoulder would look like with out it.

My motto is if your going to get up, then you need to gear up. Live to ride another day.

Deglovings suck. And while it's horrible on a motorcycle, the worst I've seen (and it's not that rare) is a degloving from a ring, especially a wedding ring.

You see someone hop down from a truck, or get the ring snagged on something and it cuts into the finger pulling almost everything off and leaving the bone and scarce other tissue. I've seen it lead to amputation three times.

So in a similar note, I don't wear any kind of jewelry... well ever... but nothing at all when I'm on the bike in case things go FUBAR.

I've seen this at work as well. A guy was yanking on the slider hose for a trailer bogey and caught his ring on a metal bracket. It was pretty ugly.
