I beleive the population of Alberta is just under 3 million people... Think about that. And I was WAY off, it was a 1/4 billion profit in the firust quarter. Here:CNF2002 wrote:CEO ferraris and 50 story buildings are expensive.Last year in Alberta insurance companies posted something like a quarter billion dollars in profit.
Then again that profit may not be alot when you look at other businesses...what was McDonald's profit last year? Microsoft? Oil (ugh) companies?
EDMONTON (CBC) - The announcement that the insurance industry made a net profit of $2.63 billion last year stirred up more debate about auto insurance reforms at the legislature Tuesday.
"2003 was a very good year for the insurance industry,"
After all their payouts the insurance companies in Alberta were up 2.63 BILLION. On 3 million people.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
