I like my YZF600R as it is works for me for what I do with it. But then I also Like my 77 GS400, which I can do what ever I want on it and she keeps on running.

1999 Honda XR200R. It's a dirtbike. I can go more places than you can go on foot. Well, unless you wanna walk through a mud pit  It's plenty quick for riding through the woods, and plenty of suspension travle for the rough spots. The only thing i really would change is the rear sprocket, give it a +3 sprocket in back so i don't have to downshift as much. Other than that it's been a great first bike though i can't wait to sell it and get a road bike. But something tells me within a season i'll miss the trails after getting a road bike.
I think as far as bikes i'd LIKE to get one would have to be a BMW K1200R. Same power as the K1200S in a more upright seating position with a sweet naked look. Though it may not perform as well as a K1200S, it still can hang with most bikes.
And a street-fighterized RC51.
Though neither of those for first road bikes... I think a mid 90's Katana or FZ would be nice.

Do not be fooled, they have changed the gearing on the K1200R and it only has one intake which is why it has 5 bhp less but more low gear torque. This naked will leave the S standing in a city enviroment. I would vote any large V twin for you.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

I'm gonna vote for my Honda VTX1800.

Even when I was into sportbikes, and owned and SV1000, I had a pic of a decked out VTX on my comp as a background. Just something about the lines. Usably Sexier than most any cruiser I think. When I got into cruisers, I knew exactly what I wanted. I looked into victory's and other sexier looking bikes, but I knew that I wanted to go on long trips and all the super sexy looking cruisers did not have the passenger comfort or room that the VTX has.

I love:
-The headlight, first thing that I was drawn too. Funny now a lot other metric companies are taking the same design for their headlights.

-Power 115 foot pounds and 100 hp, nothing to scoff at

-custimizability...lots of goodies.

-The Sexy curves

-the long wheelbase...longer than any harley. Its great to pull into a parking lot and park next to all the other cruisers, and make even the biggest harley's look small in comparison.

-The sound, nothing beats a big twin for sound

-Looks, I got a retro spoke model and it just eminates a classyness and timelessness that not many bikes can touch.

-Honda reliability

-Comfort, even the decked out tourer harleys seem small when I go sit on them at their dealership.

-Passenger comfort...having my dogs on the back is a must...too bad its her first experiance on a bike so she can't appreciate it. Maybe if she had been on the back of my SV for a little while...

-Braking, linked brakes more powerful than most cruisers

V-Star 1100 Classic

05 V-Star 1100 Classic

Really like the look and feel of this bike, has all the power I need and find that it handles great. With a few add-ons and a couple mods it'll be the dream bike I have been wanting for a long time.
It has lots of get-up and go and find the brakes excellent. Like the way it handles as it feels like it was built just for me, love the way it handles the twisties, though I must agree that the stock seat is not the greatest after a couple hours, but otherwise I have no complaints with it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a V-star to anyone looking for a not-too-expensive mid-sized cruiser, heck it even looks good right out of the box, so far very happy with my choice.
Ride On...

i ride a 1996 yzf 600r.
i love this bike because its my first. i have only been ride for about a year. it was rebuilt by its last owner. he bought it salvaged. i have been riding it naked. mainly due to the fact that i dumped it a week after i got it. that didnt discourage me from getting back on though. i would have put a pic on but my file was to many pixils.

Hi everyone, first time poster. My bike is an '06 ninja 250, in yellow. I've had it almost a month now, and I love it because it's my first bike ever. I've put almost 700 miles on it so far and I'm loving every minute of it. I wanted something small and agile to learn on, and the mpg doesn't hurt either since I've been using it to commute when I can (around 80 miles round trip).

Everyone I have talked to said I should have gotten something bigger, but I'm very happy I decided on this one.

First off, for a cruiser it's awesome in the twisties...not Yamaha R6 awesome, but much quicker than you might imagine. Secondly it's hella comfortable. As some of you know I did a three day trip to the Dragon over the summer (1019 miles total) and I wasn't sore one bit. Third, for a steel-framed chrome cruiser she has some pretty serious get-up-and-go, most of which is available right from idle. And all that power finds its way to the ground via a silky smooth shifter free from all the clanks and clunks that plague a certain American brand I won't mention here. Finally, after carrying me around in perfect comfort for hours on end, scraping pegs and passing cages all the while, I can wipe her down with some Dri Wash 'N' Guard and let her pretty it up with the best of 'em.

Yup, though I'd still like to park an FJR 1300 or GoldWing next to her, for now she does everything I ask her to. And when you consider the $10,999.00 price tag, it's really hard to beat this bike.

Thanks, Hammer. The M50 is no slouch either. What color did you decide on? I've seen all four in person and have to say I like them all.
