Sounds high to me, but I think you guys get dinged for bike insurance harder than we do in Alberta. Full coverage on a financed bike might account for some of that, too.

I pay $266/yr but that's just pl/pd on a 1990 FJ-1200. And it's too much, I expect a drop when I renew this year.... yeah, right. It should drop, but won't. All my other insurance rates went up this year even with no claims and no violations. Hell my liability insurance (that I can't work without having) more than doubled!?!

I paid not cheap but not too expensive through AAA, I paid $668 a year for full coverage 100,000/200,000 and 100,000 for property damages. this is include Comprehensive and collsion (deductable 250, 500) and uninsure motorist (100,000).

The thin for you to concern not only premium but coverage as well. Things happen on a bike and trend to be even more damage than driving a car both persons and properties.

I even get more coverage on my bike more than my brand new Element.

In Toronto, I got a quote of $1300-something for basic, $1600-something comprehensive (excluding collision insurance). I'm 26, and just a few months ago completed the motorcycle safety course.

In US (California) I got much lower quotes but you have to keep in mind that the minimum liability in CA is $15K, while in Ontario it's $200K. The quote I got from TD Canada Trust actually had $1M liability coverage (that's right $1 million). Once you crank up the liability coverage for US insurance, it actually becomes more expensive than the Canadian.

hope this helps.

Cheers Ninja,
The last quote i got was for $950 with a million liability, I don't know what the deductible is on the comprehensive but I will be going with that agent.
