suzuki maruader 800 2003 w/8,000 miles. for $4100, sound like a good beginner bike? it fits me pretty well and has custom pipes that are nice and loud and thunderous. only thing I dont like about it is that I Really wanted to get onto a bike for $2500 or less.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. Be sure to check the tires. At 8,000 miles they probably only have 1,000-2,000 left on them and you may be able to negotiate $250.00 off the price for that alone.

In any case, good luck!

I'm just having a little trouble justifying paying more for my first bike than my car is currently worth, when I wont be able to use the bike at least 75% of the year. its either raining or snowing here or just too cold.
but I guess thats where the decision ultimately comes....

You can ride in the rain. Besides the bike is way more fun than a cage.

Or at least any cage that's worth under $4,000.
Have fun on the open /¦\

I know, I was surprised too.

Whether it's worth it or not is entirely up to you. There are certainly good deals out there for less money. If you don't think you'll be riding 75% of the year (where do you live, Alaska?) then perhaps a nice 80's UJM or a used Ninja 500R would be a good choice. Just be sure to get something mechanically simple since it will spend so much time in cold storage.

That's a hell of a deal . I got out the door after wheeling and dealin' for $4900 and a little change on a 1996 Suzuki Intruder with 8742 miles on it and I love my ride . Course it's fully customized now .
And my Spousette got a 2000 Suzuki Marauder for about the same amount of money and she loves her scoot too . It was low milage as well .
Regards, Wizzard

Actually sounds like a pretty good deal on that marauder.
