that's good to know.
you live in LA, right? take it on the 405 either really early in the morning or around afternoon.......there won't be much traffic....405 north, south will be packed.

101 south at around 9 p.m on wednsdays towards sunset......bike night.....no traffic on the way there, but if you take the sunset exit you'll see at least 2 cops every block.

another good one is the freeway towards glendale, i forgot which it is though, the 10 maybe.

and if you really wanna improve your skills, take it up mulholland through the canyons.....i suggest going slow the first time to get an idea of how the road & turns are because tsome of the turns are very sharp.

except for those, i don't know any other good places to ride.

my bike's lightweight + my lightweight + wind blast = not fun :x

oh well, i'll get used to it. :)
I did, and I don't have the benefit of a fairing. Couple of days and you won't even notice it.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I don't know 'bout that. Since Vermillion was slowing to a stop and presumably should be on the clutch and the brake, I'd say forget about waving. Riding the bike comes first.

can't take freeways yet but i'll probably get my lic this month after the BRC.

2 freeway is the glendale freeway, we used to live there. i'll be taking 405 some day since it's the one i need to go to pierce college.

but for now, im still limited to side streets.

mulholland? i think i'll go to griffith park 1st before that since i heard griffith park has beginner friendly twisties.

thanks.

it was safe enough since i already slowed down way ahead before the light and im still using the rear brake to slow down while i attempted to wave back.

vermillion, i ride a 92 600 kat....i dont even want to think about how fast my toes would curl up ridin your bike. heh id be scared spitless. I look at mine, thats been described as clunky, and unresponsive, and think what the heck kinda cyborg nueral implants do these people have that lets em control anything with more power and responsivness.

to be perfectly honest, 600 cc's are more than enough for me. and thats after 4 years of having the thing.

then again, ive always been kind of a slow poke. but i always get where im goin.

the bike's only as powerful as you let them be. i use very little throttle since that's all i need for the streets.

i don't really break speed limits that much, aside from being careful since i can't brake too hard for fear of locking the wheels so i always allow more space on when im on my bike... also, i can't afford to get another ticket. i got one for doing a "california roll" last november.

i ride more conservative than you think.

you strike me as very conservative :D and i just do the speed limits. then i putt on by the smacktard who just buzzed past me going 120 through traffic.

course hes generally picking up pieces of a. himself or b. his bike when i putt by. of course...i enjoy stoplights. immensely. i cant tell you how many idiots ive seen getting pulled over in sports cars when they did that silly haul "O Ring" away from the spotlight thing, and didnt bother to look behind em at the state cop.

what is it about riding a bike that makes every goofy sucker in everything from a metro up to a vette decide that they just have to prove how fast they can start when they pull up beside you?

"Safe enough" is a relative term. My point was that slowing to a stop, you should be covering both brakes and the clutch and looking at the road directly ahead of you. Under perfectly benign, normal situations, you could safely take your right hand off the bars to wave. The problem arises when the unexpected happens. A pothole, a patch of sand, gravel, or some other "surprise" could leave you wishing that you had both hands on the bars. Since you are a noob on a high performance bike, I think this is doubly important. The unexpected event is what will most likely cause you to lose it. You don't want to be caught with one hand in the air, looking at a bike on the other side of the road when it rears it's ugly head.

Waving is fine if you're cruising down the road with light traffic and a steady speed. As someone who is just learning to ride on a HP bike, I think the less you divert your attention from the task at hand, the better off you'll be.

Just one guy's opinion. Worth every penny you paid for it
