Gah! Don't feel bad for him! There's a reason you don't give big trucks to newbs. Same reason you don't give a gold wing or litre bike to a newb.JWF505 wrote:ahahahThough crossed my mind at first, but i almost felt bad for the poor kid. 3rd day with his lisence and he hits a bike. Insurance is gonna soar, he probably lost any confidence he had and he truly felt bad about it. but ya there was a little rage at the guy when i was watching it and then walking over.

Unless you live where it actually gets cold.....then they are GREAT! People who install them so the vehicle can start in gear are stupid....mysta2 wrote:... remote starts are stupid!
From the California vehicle code:Is it illegal to park up on the sidewalk in kalifornia?

That law only applies to public sidewalks/property. Whenever I go to a store, they usually have a sidewalk out front that I can park on. It's private property, so you can't do it if they don't want you to, but I've never had anyone give me any problems when I did it.XM23 wrote:From the California vehicle code:Is it illegal to park up on the sidewalk in kalifornia?
Prohibited Stopping, Standing, or Parking
22500. No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or official traffic control device, in any of the following places:
(f) On any portion of a sidewalk, or with the body of the vehicle extending over any portion of a sidewalk, except electric carts when authorized by local ordinance, as specified in Section 21114.5. Lights, mirrors, or devices that are required to be mounted upon a vehicle under this code may extend from the body of the vehicle over the sidewalk to a distance of not more than 10 inches.
There can be problems with that too... once saw some spandex-torturing housewife standing outside of a grocery store chewing her cud and watching her two brats climb over/on/around someone's street bike, which was leaning on its side stand on the sidewalk near the door. Far as she was concerned it was just a cheaper version of those coin-operated rides they used to have in front of k-marts.flynrider wrote: That law only applies to public sidewalks/property.
