I knew it was windy out so I was expecting to encounter crosswinds. Thankfully my bike doesn't get blown around much. Only took a tiny bit of lean to keep it going straight in the crosswind.
Wind seems to be dying down, so I might go back out for a little while.
my first ride:)

Well just went for another ride. Spent about 2 hours out this time.
I see why its good to ride expecting the cagers to be stupid. At one interesction I had right of way, I saw a car coming to the stop sign, I assumed they would blow the stop sign so I slowed down, and lo and behold they blew the stop sign, glad I assumed they would be stupid.
the bike is definately very comfy. After 2 hours in the saddle im not sore at all, barely even tired.
Gave my first biker wave today, was stopped at a stop sign and a harley rode by, waved at him , but he didn't wave back.
Put a grand total of 34 miles on the bike today:)

cool. i have 470 miles now... im rushing 600 miles before this month ends to have my break-in done and get my 1st maintenance done. after this, i don't have to worry of exceeding 6K RPM. i bet that's where my bike's power will really show.jmillheiser wrote:Well just went for another ride. im in ohio and i was riding into december when it was well below freezing around 25 or so. i quit when all of a sudden one morning i was riding and noticed frost on the road. that frost scared the $h!t out of me and th at wa the day the bike got put away it still isnt warm here, its about 28 or so right now, but the cold doesnt bug me its just the frost, and i dont have a garage so i feel really bad leaving my bike out in the cold....no joke.... tried to bring it in the kitchen at night, but my gf ended that idea really fast!
i tried this on her, but it didnt work.

It was in the 50s here yesterday.
I went out for a short ride tonight, wasn't too bad. Definately had more traffic out tonight then yesterday. Encountered my first red light w/ actuator tonight, sat through it for 5 min before a cage pulled up on the other side and triggered the actuator finally getting it to change.
Had my bike north of 6k RPM for the first time tonight, gave it a quick blast to the top of second, at least on my 500 second gear only tops out at 45mph. the bike definately has more power than I thought it did though it comes on in a nice linear fashion with no suprises. This part makes me glad I went with a 500 instead of a 250. In normal riding I dont need much throttle at all to keep up with traffic, but there is a lot of power available if needed. Im sure on a 250 I would be having to rev it a lot more to keep up with traffic
Also learned my bike sounds like a ducati above 6000rpm
