There is more info now. The cager lost control. The car went into the other side of the freeway and came to a stop in the biker's path.
No indication whether the bike was wearing any kind of protective gear.

I dont think we have enough info (at least not yet). Could be that the car just flew into his path with no warning. On the freeway they both could have potentially been going 60mph, with a little off the car since it was in a spin, but its VERY possible the cager was speeding.
If the car actually came to a stop the biker might have had time to stop or swerve, but I doubt it.

Another reason cages shouldn't share our roads.
Or the driving tests need to be stricter, which ever. But then we'd just have more and more unlicensed people driving. But I've always wondered why they didn't imbed a microchip into your license that is read by the car and then the car won't start if you don't have your license on you. And you know they could do it, too. We have the technology.
But I digress. It kind of sounds like the guy could have swerved or stopped but then again maybe it just happend like, right in front of him and going at highway speeds he probably didn't have enough time to react.

Driving tests do need to be stricter, and there should be incentives for taking safety driving courses, advanced driving courses, etc. And better guidelines on driving courses that we have already (defensive driving classes are a total joke).
Disagree about the chip. Car manufacturers wouldnt go for it (extra cost) and the states wouldnt go for it (cost again).

I don't think he got over a median. He was going the same way as the motorcyclist but lost control (somehow, It'd be...weird if it was the same guy who hit Dawn earlier this week trying to do the same crazy donkey move).

That is a shame, it would have been a horrific car on car crash also. You will notice that the car driver lost control during a "lane change". Having lived in California, I know this likely meant a 3 lane "lane change". Sounds like this cager should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
People on the California freeways are the most risk taking, distracted people you will ever see.
