My bike is in better shape than what you are describing and I only paid $500 for it.

Seems that my CX500 doesn't seem so cold blooded anymore, it only needs 2-3 minutes tops on the choke before it will idle smooth.

My bike is similar to that CB750 just a different engine, shaft drive, and 250 fewer ccs.

too much.

there is a 82 Nighthawk 750 cc in great condition downt the road from me, running, inspected, $400. Now thats is a deal, but $2k for what you're describing is too much.
