The MT-01 engine is (theoretically) a significantly reworked warrior engine which produces loads of torque and about 90 hp ( i think 88 at the wheel). From what I've read its engine isn't very powerful and the range it produces it in isn't great (a friend who has ridden it completely agrees). Its power isn't anything near a Vmax however there are three tuning stages, the third one giving about 20 hp but costing loads of money (I think around 5500 euros!!!). The virtues of the bike are supposed to be handling, the feeling of a throbbing big air-cooled Vtwin, torque, and I suppose looks (according to me it is beautiful, the type of bike you drink coffee and look at). Anyway, you only really know what a bike is about when you ride one and I still haven't managed that............! OH an by the way, it isn't really a hooligan bike (too bad) it is too heavy!!

the downside to big v-twins. limited RPM range.

the little 500 v-twin on my CX500 can rev to almost 10,000RPM and makes good power at pretty much any RPM.

Of course like most Japanese standards of its era its no lightweight at 471lbs
