Just so happens I'm renewing as of March 9thcgmoto wrote:I was looking at progressive and geico online quotes. For the coverage I I think I need the ranges seemed between $400-$700 per year (I don't own a car). Any comments on how much coverage is adequate? My bike is a starter bike so insuring it might not be worth it but the other stuff?
Policy
Liability 10/20
Property damage 10
Comprehensive & Collision ($500 deductable)
Current Carrier - Illinios National Ins (through AIG) $877 for the year
Progressive was $1120
Geico $1300
This is all with no tickets and no claims for at least four years.
Guess I'll stay with AIG. good news though, putting my car on the gf's insurance and reducing that policy by $400 a year!

At least around here if you don't have comprehensive and they don't pay out, they aren't allowed to jack up your rates. Unless you were at fault in a multi-vehicle accident.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
