What about this bike?

#1 Unread post by NorthernPete »

I must be getting itchy, because I have 2 bikes in the shed (One running, one a work in porogress) and I found this..

1983 Honda interceptor 750. bike is said to be in not bad condition, comes with a spare bike for parts (that sorta worries me) for $500 canadian, what do you think, a good deal? a good bike?

Oh, and how yall doin, Im just waiting for the snow to melt..only another 2 months until I may be able to get the bikes out on the road *L

Some bikes are a bad deal even if they are free. That said, have a look. Just be careful that you don't fall in to a money pit! :P

ahh, I freakin love those bikes... I think that was one of the bad years though. I can't remember the specifics, but there was an article in classic bike about the V4s a couple of months back. It was all about which years were good and which were duds, and of course it condemmed all my favorite years '81-'85 (some cam chain issue I think) That being said it wasn't all of the V4s for those years... I think it was mostly the 500s. And we're talking about failing expectations for honda which are pretty high. That's one of two bikes ever made that I would love to have a fully stock concourse restored version of (the other being a 748)

I'll try to remember to take a closer look at that article tonight, and get back to you.

If it were me though... I'd snap it up if it's in restorable condition (and it's the right model).

if im not mistaken the interceptor 750 is semi rare so id say take it if its in good enough condition. Then agian i may be thinking of the nighthawk 750 hmmm

The NightHawk 700SC ('84-'86) was available overseas as a 750, if that's what you're referring to.

wow, I really dig that pic. 5.8 gallon tank too! That is pretty nice. If it was in good condition, I would hop all over that, especially with a second bike for parts. But then again, I dont mind wrenching...
