When I quoted Progressive and Geico on insurance Geico turned me completely down because I've had one wreck, in a car, at less than 10 miles per hour, in the rain, with no damage done to their car and no work done on my car.

Progressive quoted me at 2000 (on an SV650) for full coverage.

Think I'm gonna go back and play around with EX500 quotes and see what i get.

Edit: Actually, what is full coverage? Having everything at the max level you can get it for your insurance?

Like say having Bodily Injury & Property Damage coverage at 250k/500k/100k instead of 25k/50k/15k and doing that for everything?

Or is it just having a little bit of something in every field they ask about?

There are so many similarities between Canada and the U.S., but we certainly diverge when it comes to MC insurance.

Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada insuring a moped will cost between $300-400CAD/yr, liability only (limit of $1M), clean driving record. Max speed 40kph/25mph for a 50cc mill and a single gear.

How can you all pay $135US for a VStar 650? Is your liability limit really low or are Canadian insurance companies just more profitable than American ones?

1200$ CAD/year -- full coverage with RidersPlus; 05 V-star 1100 Custom.

I wish they'd put this industry under gov't control.

My wife works for State Farm so thats where all my insurance policys are. I have absolutely no clue what my premiums are but I'd venture to guess with all the policies I have with them, that's it's pretty low.
