Probably a stupid question about leathers...

#1 Unread post by kabob983 »

Peeps,

I see that you can buy a leather jacket and then later on buy leather pants if you want 'em. Is the jacket on a 2 piece leather suit going to be the exact same thing as just a leather jacket bought by itself?

Example...probably needed.

Is this jacket the same thing as the jacket from this 2 piece suit?

And if not, will wearing just the jacket provide ample protection while wearing something like draggin jeans? I didn't know if maybe they cut was different...

Uhh, not exactly the same, but if you look you'll note that it says "full around connection zipper." Which to me means that it was designed to have a pair of leather pants zipped onto it.

Based on the description I'd say it will amply protect just as well as other jackets. As long is it fits well.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Yeah, I did notice slight differences. Alpinestars though makes 2 piece suits with the jacket looking exactly like some of their single leather jackets (check their website).

By the way, on their website they have lots of new stuff that says "New for '06," yet I've heard nothing about it. Any idea when they're going to start releasing stuff??

Some '06 stuff gets released in '05. Others get released at the "start of the season."

Personally I like to buy the stuff that's from the year before, or ever two years ago. Looks just as good and costs a lot less. But I'm a cheap "O Ring". LAWL
