That's not what I was suggesting. After reading his last post, I would definitely say that the poster deserves at least a few hundred.CNF2002 wrote:Sure, storage fee $2,500...send him a bill for $500.
Charging him 'storage fees' is a little too greedy-corporate-like for my tastes. Just give him back the money and sell your bike to someone who has the cash upfront.

Aside from the hassle that this guy put you through, the bike must have lost value. It is 3 years older now and has just been sitting. Who knows what will happen if you try to fire it up again.
I would try to contact him via phone. If you cant reach him keep the money its your lucky day. Your in Canada right? I dont think Canadians are as litigiouse as Americans.

I think there are provincial laws concerning these issues. Shouldn't cost anything to research it.
Here in Manitoba we have laws covering this sort of thing. I seem to remember it works along these lines.
Send registered letter to last known address stating that the bike has to be picked up by a certain date otherwise it will be sold and you will recover all your costs.
Any money over and above what is claimed, by you for costs(if there is any), is held by the province on behalf of the purchaser who has to contact the province for the residue.

PYA. Have a lawyer, or a friend pretending to be one
, send him a letter stating that if you don't hear from him you are assuming he is no longer interested and the bike it is being sold. If you don't hear from him within three weeks, sell it.

Find out if this would fall under the vehicle abandonment laws. Usually 30 days the cops pick up a car and call it abandand. I think they run an ad and if no one claims it they sell it with no title. Do talk to a lawyer.
