Jeez, you guys think I got any real power???

I can't ban anybody, and have NO desire for the authority to do so. Mostly I just try to keep the personal attacks under control and you guys make that pretty easy. There is a whole lot less of that kinda thing here than most other boards I've seen.

If you want proof-reading and correction services, then I would have to learn proper spelling and grammer.... and dat ain't a-gonna happen.

But I could help with explaining the difference between cats, kittys and puss..... if your so inclined.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

P.S. i took my cast off today.......by myself....i persoanlly think it was VERY stupid of me to do because my hand still hurts when i move it in circles...

i don't know why i took it off....i didn't go to sleep last night, instead i went to sleep at 10:30 am and worke up 3 hours ago.....i took it off at around 5 am.....it was REALLY pissing me off for no reason and i just decided to take it off....i was gonna go to home depot and ask em if i could use one of their massive saws since i don't have any....

sooo i got dressed and went out side, that's when i remembered i don't have a car. :frusty:

so went back home and found the "proper tools"

1. Scissors
2. pliers
3. more pliers
4. screw driver

btw, one of the reasons i took it off was because my doctor is only at the hospital on thurdsdays and i had to wait another week for that... + i thought my arm should be healed by now...

anyway, it took me about 2 hours to drill holes in there with scissors, make the holes wider with a screw driver and pull away with the pliers.....the screw driver kept slipping through the holes and scratching my arm inside, to the point where i had like 20 scratches and some were bleeding..

but i couldn't give up, i was a man with a mission, besides it was really pissing me off that i could't take it off..

so anyway, after about 2 hours, i finally took it off....boy was my arm dirty....it smelled really funky too....and a thick layer of yellow stuff had formed in certain spots... .... which easily peeled off though .....and after washing it with soap for about 5 minutes, i got the smell + the other stuff to go away...

but ya, i'm still gonna go to my doctor again on thursday and i might have to put another cast on since it still hurts when i twist my hand around...(i hope not)

but look at the upside, i have 4 days left till thursday and i can use that time to ride!!! ..i just hope it doesn't rain again...

As someone who has been in casts before, you will need to be very carefull with you arm until the muscles strengthen. Over time the muscles atrophy due to lack of use. You should not do anything strenuous or try to use the hand too much as you could re-injure it and... you could make it worse requiring your arm to be in a cast longer. If it hurts when you twist it, don't twist it!
If you allow the break to mend properly you should be fine, however, if you injur it again you could be in for life-long damage and pain

I too am going through the exact same thing (albeit a little worse). I shattered my wrist last June and I am trying to get back on my bike. I rode it around the neighborhood just to get used to riding again. Then I figure I will take longer and longer rides as I get more used to riding again.

The guy who mentioned getting your strength back is 100% right as well, so just keep doing what you're doing and you will be okay.

About the getting pulled over thing, a cop told me that if you're even driving a car with a broken hand/foot it is considered DWI and a big no no.

boy am i glad i'm LAZY!!!!

backs when i was on crutches, which was a few weeks ago, i went to the DMV to get one of those blue plates that let you park in the handicap zone....but there was a long line and i was starving + i was craving IN-N-OUT.....so i was like F' it and i left.....

...who know, maybe if i would've stayed, they would've taken my license away.......my laziness actually paid off for once..

You won't forget anything... at least you shouldn't. Around here you can't ride during the Winter because its too darn cold so everyone goes months and months with no riding.
