burnt rubber smell

i've got a 75 honda cl360 and today as i was riding it i noticed an odor of burnt rubber, it smelled just like when the belt on a vacuum cleaner burns out. i'm not 100% sure that what i was smelling was coming from my bike though. any ideas what's going on? am i just crazy?

never mind, i figured it out. my brake cable was brushing against my pipes when i turned so it melted through the cable and was cooking rubber on the pipes.
