Vandalism

#1 Unread post by rodzbike »

My bike was pushed over the other day! My kiddo and I rode to a local park the other day and went for a walk down a foot path. We were gone about 10 minutes. Got back to the bike and it was pushed over on the right side and the helmets were gone. Have to get a new lower fairing and can. Angry does not even start to describe how I'm feeling. Anyone else had an experience like this?

No, I haven't had this happen, nor heard of such a thing. Yeah, that would make me beyond mad. I mean, stealing the helmet is a kick in the gut, but why knock over a man's bike. I don't know man. Had to be huge cowards. They must have watched you walk away, because only a crazy person would do that when they did know if you'd be back.

Not quite, but I did leave my bike outside a supermarket one day, and as I was coming out with my shopping, the car park attendant told me that a young women had deliberately approached my bike and leaned hard against it, as though to tip it off the side stand. She merely set off the alarm which startled her and she walked away.

Some people just have a chip on their shoulder about bikes, I guess. My fantasy was that her bf was injured/killed on a bike and she was just trying to get rid of a bit of frozen spite/resentment. But who knows?

The only time, the alarm has been any use though. Hate the things.

Back in the seventies when the ultra right wing National Front were active around here, I twice had my bike spray painted with their NF logo and swastikas (they got the swastikas back to front.) What the hell were these morons hoping to achieve?
