"Owners Openions About The Ventilation Of There Helmets
If I could have made a poll about " The best ventilated helmets " I would have but this will work. So what do you all have to say about how well your helmets venting works from those open/close vents many of them have ? I would love to hear what every one has to say about the helmet make they own. I'm going to pick up a lid soon and want something that can cool well from air venting through. Thanks for your openions
I can't speak from experience but the Shoei RF1000s always have good reviews.
And I know I got the model number wrong on that. VermillionX has one so he can tell you better than I.

i liked me HJC. It gave me good ventiallation i thought. But i happened to pop into a bike shop yesterday and i tyed on an arai. Oh man, i ran down the block in it and it felt great. Good ventillation, good comfort. Great helmet, just a tad pricy. I loved the vent on the arai. The shoei that shiv mentioned is pretty decent i hear. Tryed one of those once before i got my HJC, it seemed pretty good.

I have an HJC AC-11 and I think it vents just fine. Although I had to get a balaclava to wear when its chilly because the top of my head got cold. Also, they whistle quit a bit. My new Seca has a wind shield and it directs the wind right onto those vents and they are rather noisy. I always wear ear plugs.
I would love to get my head inside the Arai Astral-X, spendy, but worth every dime. Someday...

Got a HJC CL14 full-face. Never noticed that the vents actually do anything - thought they were just gizmos put there for the rider to play with when bored.
For my next helmet I'll invest in more quality than an HJC!

I have got the Shoei RF-1000 and I am very pleased with it. Very comfortable and cool on the hot summer days. I did install a anti-fog sticker like insert on the inside of the visor to keep it from fogging up on the cooler days. I have had it installed for about a month now and it is working great, hasn't fogged up on me yet. (knock on wood)
Oh yeah, I got the anti-fog insert from a company called FogCity.

I ride with an Icon Mainframe full-face and its really comfortable and pretty quiet. Although, like VX, I have to crack open the visor if I'm stopped for more than 20 seconds because I'll fog up (the "breath deflector" does nothing). I'm going to invest in some kind of anti-fog device but other than that I'm totally happy with my helmet.
