Boot sizing
I've heard that riding boots tend to run a little on the small size when compared to "normal" shoe sizing. I've also heard that some companies are different, and size theirs the same as shoe sizes (Sidi in particular). What is the rule and does anyone have any experience with Sidi sizing (or any brand sizing for that matter).
I'd love to know what to aim for with various makers.

Hard to try 'em on when I wanna buy 'em online. Not only that but shops around here carry VERY few boots in my size, heck they carry very few boots in general.

If you're looking at buying from the internet, make sure you can return them if they don't fit. My Alpinestars are sized weird. They're a 43 which is supposed to be a US 9, but my other shoes that are 9s are marked as 42.5.
Just make sure you can return them if they don't fit right...

The Eurpoean sizes don't come in half sizes, so you have to go up or down. I also wear a 9, but when I bought a pair of European made shoes my feet sized in at a 41. I always try to purchase my shoes based off of the European size, it seems more accurate, unlike American retailers I wear a 10 in Adidas but a 9 in Nike, nothing is ever the same.
If you can find someplace that will accurately measure your feet for Eurpoean sizing, that would be the way to go.

Hrm...that stinks, because I found really nice Sidi boots on clearance but they're size 13 US (I wear a 12 US normally) and I was hoping they'd be sized a lil' small. I don't think any local shops sell Sidi either, so I can't go try 'em on.

Riding gear isn't rocket science. Buy what you like and what fits.kabob983 wrote:I've heard that riding boots tend to run a little on the small size when compared to "normal" shoe sizing. It's hard when you buy 'online'. That's why I don't buy any pictures. I buy locally where I can actually touch it and try it on. Even easy to return if necessary.
