ZX14 vs. Busa?

#1 Unread post by fireguzzi »

What do you all think about the new ZX14? Is kawasaki trying to compete with the busa, or did they build it just becuase they can?

Its pretty big like the busa from what i can tell in the pics.

What do you guys n gals think?

busa still beats it. if it was an attempt to compete i wonder hows the sales of each has been. I think i like the look of the ZX-14 more than the busa. though i think both have more power than anyone needs.

Yeah, I'm not saying that's not right - the part about the Busa still beating it - but what is your source. I haven't seen any press yet that states there has been any serious testing comparing the two. Seem Kawasaki did a lot of work to compete, so it would seem silly to get slaughtered right out of the gate.

I saw some cool drawing someone did make a naked and a touring version of this bike. That's what I hope comes of this ugly new development is a couple better designed and better looking bikes.

BMW K1200S beats both. Fastest production bike available.

AND yet the question remains unanswered. We now know the BMW beats them both, and Pam doesn't care about the question accordingly.

Next up - where did the data come from that says the Busa beats the new Kawasaki?

Speed TV did a compare contrast of them a month or so ago. I cant recall exact times and figures, but they claimed that the busa beat it off the start and to 60&100. Not to say that the ZX-14 is slow, it accelerated from 110 than the busa. Though i wish a magazine would do a test so i could have some actual figures and what not.

First, you saw this about a month ago? I dont even think the ZX-14 shipped by that time.

If I recall correctly, the BMW K1200S puts about 155hp at the back wheel and the Busa puts out about 155-160. I believe the ZX-14 will put out 190hp at the back wheel or close to it. I doubt the BMW could even stay close to the ZX-14, in relation to top speed if it were not restricted.

Going strictly by hp numbers the ZX should easily handle the Busa. I think both bikes are restricted though, to 186mph. I guess the most meaningful numbers will be acceleration in any case.

I also think that such comparisions are silly for 99.9% of riders.

Gee, good thing they capped it at such a reasonable speed
