First ride yesterday!

#1 Unread post by bikeguy joe »

Well not my first ride, but my first ride since November 15th 2005.

Cold, yeah but I couldn't take it anymore so I had to go yesterday.

Last year, I was riding by March 10th.

Warmer weather coming soon, I hope.....

We were shut down the first three weeks of Dec with below freezing weather 24/7 and ice/snow build up in the driveways, but weather broke around the 1st day of winter and I've been out many times since including yesterday. Didn't see ya out there.

Glad to hear you managed to get out, it must be very frustrating.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Jack, I had the bike on "lay up" insurance for the first time, I usually keep it insured through the winter because I usually get out a few times during the winter. I had the bike stored in my back garage and it was too muddy to get it out. I finally had the wife tow me up to the upper garage with our Bayou 250. This is after we got it out, if you look close, you can see the mud -Image I got my tags and the "regular insurance" on it.

I've been feeding my jones with short trips on my razor powerboard and by riding the fourwheeler. I'll have the Vino out in another day or two. I'm riding to work all this week!

I got the lay up insurance in July 84 when I bought my 1st bike. By November I had no intention of stopping for the winter and changed it to year round ins. Little savings at my age and rate on the lay up anyway. I've ridden year round since and don't think I've missed more than 30 days straight in almost 22 years.

Missed about 3 weeks when I broke my left wrist about 5 years ago and about 2 weeks when I broke my left collarbone in 03. Some of us are sicker than others.

Tomorrow looks great weatherwise, think I'll head for Linesville to see the eagles. I'll wave when I pass thru your area, Joe.

weather here in the north eastern USA is supposed to be great into the weekend. Temps in the high 50s right now. Time to drag it out and enjoy for a few days.
