Verm man - I don't want to kick you when you're bike is down but you still are new to your bike...VermilionX wrote:if you just take it easy like what i did when i was very new to my bike, it'll be alright. just resist the temptation to blast off.

that's why i specifically said "VERY new." i was more careful before when i was very new to my bike compared to now.Kal wrote:Verm man - I don't want to kick you when you're bike is down but you still are new to your bike...VermilionX wrote:if you just take it easy like what i did when i was very new to my bike, it'll be alright. just resist the temptation to blast off.
i built up some confidence in the canyons and then i lost it.
now i need to get it back again and hit the canyons again to regain my confidence since eventhough i still rode after the crash, it was not enough to regain my confidence.

It wont be. Chill. As stupid as it sounds doing little things on it repeatedly will give you the confidence to ride it hard.
Just so you know Verm I kind of feel like you are a little brother...
Yep, I variate between wanting to smack you round the head for being dense and wanting to protect you.
This time at least no harm done, I am hoping you will take things easier for a long time and learn how to hammer the bike off road instead.

it's ok kal, i understand you, i was just clearing up what i meant since you misunderstood me.
the only user here that i believe is really serious on attacking me is shane-o. i don't listen to him anyway.
anyway... i'll be sure to take it more easy.
i know i can't fully enjoy my bike in the canyons. the only place i'll be able to fully enjoy my bike is in the tracks but can't afford it yet.
if i win my court case from my car accident, that will be one step closer to having trackdays since i will use the money to buy me a used truck that can haul my bike as well as for personal use for bad riding weather or when i need to carry lots of stuff.

learned??? not really.swatter555 wrote:I would suggest an SV650s over the Ninja 650 due to on the SV there are less plastics to break. Verm learned this the hard way.
im not ignorant of the fact that more plastic means more $$$ for repair.
i was aware of this and i know it's gonna be a pain but i'd still rather have fairings.

If I was into sportbikes I honestly would have gone with the Ninja 250 or the 500, even though I know farings are expensive to replace. We buy things for looks all the time. Nothing wrong with that.

Of course, if you buy something for the look that isn't safe or that you're not ready for, that's not a terribly bright idea.CNF2002 wrote:If I was into sportbikes I honestly would have gone with the Ninja 250 or the 500, even though I know farings are expensive to replace. Keep in mind that it's just your first bike, you'll have plenty of time to buy new one's in the future, consider your first bike "temporary." Plus I think most people might "settle" on a less powerful, uglier bike, but after we get it, we fall in love with it. That's how I was with my Nighthawk, I love sport bikes, but I knew A. I couldn't afford one and B. I would probably kill myself. So I bought an old standard, and now I think it's the best looking bike in the world.
