First bike and I just bought a 2001 GXS-R750
So I've never rode a street bike in my life and I ended up with a 2001 GXS-R750, not by choice though. I'm willing to admit this bike is way out of my league and probably isn't the best one for me to start out on...
I was wondering how dangerous it is out there on a bike and what are some of the best safety tactics I could practice?

+1. Your best option is to sell the GSXR, buy a small starter bike and pocket the change.

You definately picked up a bike that is not newbie friendly. If you can control yourself, you can probably learn on it. I wouldnt recommend a new rider get a bike like that under any circumstances, but you already have it. Throttle control will be your friend.
If on the other hand you dont feel comfortable on the bike, then maybe you should sell it.

I am a total newbie here (i havent even been on a bike yet.. in between jobs so i can exactly go out and buy one at the moment.. prolly in a month or so) so take what i have to say with a grain of salt.. You could prolly keep that bike and possibly find some older (80's) standard bike for a few hundred and ride that until you fee comfortable enough to ride the much more touchy and fast bike... just an idea, if u want to keep your current bike..

The dangerous, It can kill you or get you killed pretty easy. worse than that you are not dead but wish to be dead every breath of your life.Relapse wrote: I was wondering how dangerous it is out there on a bike and what are some of the best safety tactics I could practice?
